What Should I Be Prepared For?

Self sufficient people are prepared for anything. That’s a large order. In order to be prepared we need to start somewhere. What needs to be done to have a self sufficient living life style. Does anyone have a simple checklist of things that are most important. I know of one such checklist. It is located hereFOOD AND WATER 

This book will provide some insight into what steps you need to take to be prepared and to survive.

• Are your finances in order?
• Food Storage
• Medical matters are in order?
• Do you need a fuel supply?
• What should you store?
• What keeps you going in an emergency?

If you can’t answer all of these questions you need this book.

I believe that every family should have at least a two week supply of water stored. You ought to have a years supply of clothing on hand. You also need to emergency cash and I don’t mean in a bank account.

Do some creative thinking about being prepared.

Now to answer the question What should I be prepared for? Here are some of the things I consider most important.

• Be prepared for Job Loss.
• Be prepared for drought.
• Be prepared for revolution (Did I say  that?).
• Be prepared for food shortages.
• Be prepared for family medical emergencies and I mean those when a Doctor is not around.

Those are just a few. Make your own list and then  prepare for them. My list might not be the same as yours as your life situation is different from mine. Learn Self Sufficient Living.

WSU ACCOUNTING FOUL UP MAY DENY

SARAH HERE ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEGREE IN THE FINAL SEMESTER

Yes this is in bright red for a reason. This 9 year veteran of the United States Navy is trying to enroll in her final semester at Washington State University. Due to some kind of accounting mistake on the part of the university, she is not able to register until she pays them back a large chunk of change. The school apparently paid her too much money associated with her veterans benefits since 2010 and failed to notify Sarah until enrollment time for her final semester. She has attempted to get a loan from Gesa Credit Union to fund this payback but was told that due to student loans her income to debt ratio was to high and the loan was denied.

It appears that even if she can find enough money to pacify the school until she graduates that her financial aid and other benefits will be cutoff. She has a family of three boys and a disabled husband who does not get any help. She and her family live at home with her parents.

This will help prevent this kind of trauma and stress to other students. We have had several student report similar accounting mistakes that were very painful to them.

In remembrance of Pearl Harbor day December 7, 1941.

I was born in February of 1942. I have often wondered what went through my Mothers mind when she heard the announcement of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Did she wonder what would become of the baby that she carried? Did she think I would have to speak Japanese? Did she wonder what would happen to my Father? I sincerely hope that she thought I was worth all of the worry that I must have caused her that December. Some of the answers are:

• I was born a fighter in February of 1942 and have not stopped fighting for what is right since.
• I haven’t learned any language but English.
• My Father ran a small lumber mill and all military call up was cancelled because he was engaged in a strategic industry.
• I am worth all that my mother worried about and more.
